HSBC Asset Management appoints Karim Ghannam as Global Head of Real Assets

    7 August 2025 – Karim Ghannam has been appointed Global Head of Real Assets and Head of Alternatives, Singapore, at HSBC Asset Management (HSBC AM).

    Bringing over 25 years’ experience, Karim will be responsible for the strategic development and management of HSBC AM’s real assets proposition which is made up of a suite of listed, direct and indirect real asset investment strategies.

    Karim joins HSBC AM from 8F Asset Management, an impact focused private equity fund manager which he co-founded in 2016 and was most recently Chief Investment Officer. Prior to that, Karim held a number of leadership roles in alternatives and private markets at global firms including Deutsche Bank and Argan Capital.

    Commenting on the appointment, Joanna Munro, Chief Executive Officer of Alternatives at HSBC Asset Management, said: “We are delighted to welcome Karim to the team as we look to scale up our real assets business and tap into Singapore’s position as a key international wealth hub.”

    Karim joins HSBC AM on 8 August 2025 and will report to Joanna Munro.
